SmartFix Coordinate Update

To ensure that SmartFix delivers you the best possible coordinate solution for your work site, it is necessary for the coordinates of the reference stations to keep in line with the coordinates that Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) stipulates.

Currently LINZ broadcasts 2018 epoch coordinates – SmartFix has been broadcasting these 2018 coordinates since 2018 via a port that looks like x8xx (with the x being variable depending on where you work).

Most SmartFix customers are on x8xx and will have to do nothing to remain operational.

A small number of SmartFix customers are on a previous LINZ epoch and the base coordinates they are using are now well out of date – these old coordinates are broadcast on a MountPoint port that will be of a form x1xx.

At the same time as we are transitioning the small number of remaining customers to the latest LINZ coordinates on x8xx ports, we will be decommissioning the unused MountPoints on the x1xx ports.
